The Mercedes Benz plant in Alabama is becoming a busy place. The new M-Class and
R-Class are currently in production and the G-Class
replacement and a possible 7-seat version on M-Class are on tap. The plant has more than doubled in size and the
workforce will also double to 4,000 by the time second shifts are added to build the increased number of models.
Pre-production models of the new R-Class are being assembled for validation with production sales to start
mid-year.
