While many automakers are developing hydrogen powered vehicles, California is moving towards implementing the infrastructure necessary to support these new vehicles. At present, the state has developed a blueprint to bring in 100 refueling stations and 2,000 hydrogen powered vehicles by 2010. The $54 million program is a favorite of California’s own Terminator governor, Schwarzenegger. Luckily there isPerhaps the military will develop a hydrogen powered vehicle manly enough for this gubernatorial movie star. The next step for California would be ten times the number of vehicles with an additional 150 fuel stations. Obviously, the bulk of the infrastructure investment would occur around the population centers of San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
