The holidays are stressful enough without the added horror of
getting your car stolen. Help Eliminate Auto Theft (HEAT) suggests these tips to keep your car theft-free this
season:
— Park in well-lit areas near sidewalks or walkways. Don’t park by dumpsters or by large vans or trucks, which
create cover for an enterprising thief.
— It’s an extra few bucks, but try using valet if you’re by yourself, particularly if it’s late at night.
— Place gifts and other valuables out of sight. Blankets or other camouflage work well.
— Keep one hand free with your keys in the other hand so you’re able to move freely in the event you come upon a
thief.
