Geneva Preview: Suzuki set with new sedan and Wagon R+

Motor Authority claims to have the in on what Suzuki’s bringing to the Geneva Motor Show in early March. According to the website, the Japanese automaker will be debuting a mid-sized sedan based on the SX4. Unlike the SX4, it will be front-wheel drive only and not be offered with a diesel engine. We assume this new car is not the sedan version of the SX4 we’ve seen in various spy shots, since it’s being called a mid-size. It is, however, destined for markets beyond Europe, including the U.S. where it will probably get a V6 instead of the 1.6L motor that will be on display with it in Geneva.

Suzuki will show us a new Wagon R+ in Geneva that supposedly takes its styling cues from the Splash Concept shown at the Paris Motor Show last year. The Wagon R is a big seller for Suzuki in Japan and holds its own in the European market. The current design is looking a little dated, so we’re curious to see whether the Splash treatment will be a refresh or a total redesign.
