ESPN has created a new TV movie about the life of Dale Earnhardt Sr called “3”. I know his widow, Theresa, did not
sign off or approve of the movie as they are usually “overdone” to keep audiences watching (just take a look at the
trailer on ESPN.com). I grew up as a huge Dale fan and when he died,
so did NASCAR as I soon found out. I tried to keep watching, became a Jr fan and tracked Harvick after he was
catapulted into Dale’s ride in 2001. But with the amount of rules and politically correct BS that NASCAR cares about
now, racing has taken a backseat to the pre and post show. One good thing came out of it though; I’ll be spending a lot
more time at our local Wall Stadium in NJ instead of watching the pre-orchestrated TV shows.
