British Motor Show attendance scoffed at

So even though way back when the British Motor Show (last month) was actually happening all kinds of glowing reviews were being dispatched, the official report is that the visitor numbers are disappointing. Although a 13,000 person increase was generated, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) was looking for 600,000 attendees— what they got was 461,000. Way to let the SMMT down, England. The amount of customer details recorded by automakers was down significantly, and while the next show in 2006 will keep the popular “live” components, organizers will reevaluate how much it costs a visitor to attend the event.
