Spy shots of a large Nissan sedan testing in the Southwest U.S. reveal a possible move by the Japanese automaker to
offer a North American competitor to the Toyota Avalon. The sedan is based on the JDM Teana that falls below the Fuga
in Japan, a car we know in the states as the Infiniti M35/M45. The car caught testing shows a left-hand drive
conversion and new interior that closely matches the interiors found in current North American Nissan products. This
car would be positioned above the Maxima, a move that would probably cannibalize even more sales of that sports sedan,
which has already had some sales gobbled up by the new larger, more powerful Altimas in Nissan’s line-up.
