Torque is a measure of rotational force, twisting or turning around a pivot point. Every wrench is a tool to apply torque; what makes a torque wrench different is that it’s designed to apply a precise amount of rotational force, preventing over-tightening that can damage the fastener and under-tightening that can make things fall apart. There are analog torque wrenches, but Amazon has a digital torque wrench on sale now with a big price cut.

The Vcan Active Digital Torque Wrench is on sale for $56 at Amazon, 30% less than its $80 list price. It comes with a suite of bits and sockets that will be more than enough for most people’s purposes.

This wrench has a handle on one end, a 72-tooth ratchet head on the other, and a backlit LED display with a control panel in between. You can set the maximum torque you’d like to apply to a fastener and a green light above the display will turn on when you reach 85% of that maximum; a red light turns on at 100%, and it’s accompanied by vibrations and a persistent beeping. You can choose between four different units and store up to 10 preset torque values for the fasteners you use most often. The display can be set to show both real-time torque in track  mode and the maximum torque applied in peak mode. It’s accurate within 2% and is rated to work without calibration more than 30,000 times. It comes with seven sockets, 14 bits, an extender bar, two batteries, and a storage case.

“The accuracy is spot on, and the digital display makes it super easy to read and set the desired torque,” one shopper wrote. “I love the audible alert and vibration when reaching the target,” which obviates the need to guess. They added that “the build quality feels solid and professional,” making it easy to recommend this tool to both DIY and professional mechanics.

“It’s got a sturdy, premium feel without being bulky or heavy, and the grip is comfortable enough for long jobs,” another customer wrote. “The digital readout is super clear and easy to read, even in low light, and the audible beep and vibration alert makes it basically foolproof.”

The Vcan Active Digital Torque Wrench is a great tool for anyone who wants to make sure their screws and bolts aren’t over- or under-tightened, and it’s a great deal for just $56. Do yourself a favor and get one today; you’ll save money today and money (and frustration) in the future.
