If you live in a state that endures its fair share of blizzards every winter, you might want to skip buying a cordless snow shovel and purchase a larger snow blower instead. A powerful machine like the Steelite 20-Inch Cordless Snow Blower, currently on sale for $230 (down from $360), can clear about a foot of snow at a time, or more than twice as much as the average cordless snow shovel.
If, on the other hand, you live somewhere that routinely gets 6 inches of snow or less during storms — or if you prefer taking multiple trips outside to clear snow rather than doing it all at once — the Aovox Cordless Snow Shovel is a much better choice. It’s also a great option for those looking to save money, since it’s on sale for almost 50% off right now. It usually costs $210 at Walmart but is marked down to just $110 at the moment.
Pros
- Lightweight design makes it easy for anyone to handle
- Adjustable front handle improves comfort and ergonomics
- Helpful directional plate throws snow in the desired direction
Cons
- Two batteries only give it a runtime of just over 30 minutes
- Small motor limits its ability to clear more than 5 inches of snow
- Compact build creates paths only 10 inches wide
This snow shovel weighs just under 8 pounds, making it easy for almost anyone to hold and maneuver during snow removal without putting too much strain on their back. It can also handle up to 5 inches of snow and clear 10-inch-wide paths, letting you quickly remove dry snow from driveways, sidewalks, and other surfaces.
Additionally, this snow blower includes two 21V 4Ah batteries, giving you up to 34 minutes of runtime per charge. It’s also very safe to use, thanks to its double-switch safety mechanism that’s designed to help you avoid accidental startups.
Still, it’s the snow shovel’s 90-degree adjustable directional plate that ultimately steals the show. It lets you angle snow in any direction as you move it, so you can put it where you want and keep it from falling back onto your driveway or sidewalks later. It rotates up to 45 degrees, allowing you to take complete control of the plate from the second you start using the shovel.
