As the weather starts to warm up and the official start of spring arrives this weekend, it’s the perfect time to get ahead on yard maintenance. No matter if you’re cleaning up overgrown edges, tackling weeds along fences, or just keeping your lawn looking sharp, having the right cordless tools can make a huge difference. Lightweight, battery-powered string trimmers in particular have become a go-to for homeowners who want convenience without dragging cords around or dealing with gas-powered equipment.
Right now at Walmart, the Steelite 12-Inch 21V Cordless Weed Eater is on sale for $55, making it a timely pickup for the season. This 2-in-1 tool works as both a grass trimmer and an edger, giving you flexibility for different parts of your yard. It features a 12-inch cutting width for efficient trimming, along with a 21V 2.0Ah battery that delivers up to 30 minutes of runtime and fully recharges in about an hour. At just 3.8 pounds, it’s also easy to handle for longer sessions without feeling weighed down.
45% OffThe adjustable cutting head rotates up to 90 degrees, while the auxiliary handle can be adjusted 180 degrees, making it easier to reach tight spots or edge along uneven terrain. The built-in auto-feed system keeps the line at a consistent length so you don’t have to stop and make constant adjustments. It also includes an auxiliary wheel for cleaner edging and smoother control, which is especially helpful if you’re trying to get that clean, finished look along sidewalks or driveways.
“Works great. It includes a handle on the rod, which makes sweeping left to right easier. Battery life of about an hour is perfect for my yard,” one reviewer shared.
Another buyer simply said, “It is lightweight, easy to adjust, and works great.”
