A cordless impact wrench is one of those tools that can completely change how automotive DIY jobs feel. Lug nuts, suspension hardware, brake jobs, stubborn bolts, mower blades, trailers, and general garage repairs all get easier when you’re not fighting everything by hand. For gearheads, weekend mechanics, and DIYers who want more serious power without stepping all the way into pro-tool pricing, a name brand high-torque impact kit is always worth checking out.
With this limited-time Labor Day deal we found at Home Depot, the Ryobi One+ 18V 1/2-Inch Cordless Impact Wrench is on for just $159, 41% off its typical price. That’s a big discount on a name brand kit that includes a 4-mode 1/2-inch impact wrench, a 4.0Ah battery, and charger. It’s part of Ryobi’s One+ system, so the included battery and charger are compatible with the brand’s 18V lineup of more than 300 cordless tools.

- Three speeds and an automatic mode gives you more control

Ryobi lists up to 1,170 pound-feet of breakaway torque and up to seven times faster removal speed, giving it the muscle for demanding automotive and construction jobs. The three speed settings and a built-in automatic mode helps you control power, with the auto mode designed to prevent overtightening in forward and provide more controlled removal in reverse. A 1/2-inch anvil with a friction ring allows quick socket changes, the die-cast gear case adds durability, and a triple-beam LED work lights help illuminate dark wheel wells, undercarriage areas, garages, and jobsites.
“This is such a nice impact, so lightweight and operates smoothly,” said one happy buyer. “It seems as powerful as my friend’s Milwaukee.”
A second user said, “I bought this to speed up tire rotations without having to bust out the compressor. This tool has proven useful and powerful time and time again.”
