Camping is all fun and games — until you’re sweating through your sleeping bag and wondering why in the world you thought it would be a good idea to pitch a tent out in the woods on a hot and humid night. Avoid finding yourself in this situation by investing in a reliable camping fan that can keep you cool on even the warmest nights. Walmart has one on sale right now for over 50% off, and it could ultimately become the most essential piece of camping gear you own before long.
The Gazeled Camping Fan — available in your choice of blue or yellow — typically sells for $45. However, Walmart currently has it available for just $22, and it will be worth every penny for anyone tired of their tent turning into a sauna during camping trips.
Gazeled Camping Fan, $22 (was $45) at Walmart
Weighing only about 1 pound and measuring just 5 inches in diameter, this fan is on the smaller side, which may initially lead you to believe that it won’t do much to bring down the temperature in a blistering-hot tent. But as you will quickly learn after popping four D-cell batteries (not included) into the back of it, this couldn’t be further from the truth. It boasts three speeds — low, medium, and high — that are much stronger than you might suspect, thanks to its small but mighty motor. At the same time, it generates just 50 decibels of noise, which is roughly equivalent to the sound of a running refrigerator or moderate rainfall.
Those concerned about relying on batteries to keep cool while camping should also know that the fan lasts remarkably long despite being battery-powered. You can expect to get around 12 hours out of it when using it on high, 46 hours on medium, and well over 200 hours on low. This makes it ideal for camping while also making it a must for those who routinely deal with power outages or simply want to be prepared for other emergencies.
“I was pleasantly surprised by how great it works,” one reviewer wrote. “High speed is really what it says — wow!”
“It’s lightweight and powerful,” another reviewer wrote. “It lasts much longer than other fans and is also stronger.”
