If you spend most of your days working under car hoods, you know how critical it is to have high-quality work lights at your disposal. A lack of light can make it just about impossible to pull off auto repairs in a timely fashion, so you should make sure you invest in a hood light ASAP if you don’t already have access to a light like this. Amazon can help you get your hands on one for an affordable price, as it’s currently selling a popular DeWalt hood light for almost 30% off.
The DeWalt Cordless Hood Light usually sells for $209, but for a limited time, it’s available for just $148 at Amazon. The retailer has also discounted many of its other mechanic-friendly lights, such as the DeWalt 20V Max LED Flashlight, recently. However, you could argue that the hood light is the best of the bunch when it comes to allowing auto technicians to do their jobs well.
This highly effective hood light is capable of producing up to 1,700 lumens, placing it on par with a 100-watt incandescent light bulb in terms of brightness. It’s also designed to be extended anywhere from 51 to 74 inches, enabling it to fit the hoods on most cars, trucks, and SUVs. Additionally, it features anti-marring hooks on its ends, which can prevent damage to the paint on vehicles. It even boasts a convenient foldable design that makes storing it between repairs a breeze.
What we appreciate most about this hood light, though, is that it’s compatible with many of the batteries in DeWalt’s extensive lineup. It works with all 12V, 20V, and 60V Max batteries and provides up to 10 hours of light on a single charge. We also love that the light features three toggleable modes — high, low, and single-arm — to help you conserve battery life without compromising your ability to see clearly.
“It’s super bright,” one reviewer wrote. “Unlike other hood lights, you can also turn off the side you aren’t using to save power or reduce glare.”
Another shopper agreed, writing, “It’s awesome. I really love this light! It makes car repairs possible during the winter when the days are short or when extra light is needed for work in the engine bay.”
The DeWalt Cordless Hood Light is 29% off at Amazon. Give your eyes a break while working on cars by ordering one today.
