It’s a simple mathematical fact that the more power tools you acquire, the more batteries you’ll want to have on hand. They’re a lot less fun to purchase than a new circular saw or angle grinder but the frustration avoided by always having a fully charged battery on hand when you need one is well worth it, particularly when you can get a pair of high-quality batteries for $100 less than usual.
The DeWalt 20V Max XR Powerstack 3.5Ah Battery Kit is on sale for $149, 40% off its $249 list price. The kit comes with a pair of 3.5Ah batteries, a solid capacity that’s not too heavy but still lasts a good amount of time on a single charge.
Selling FastEach of these batteries is made of high-quality plastic with a durable rubber overmold on the bottom that absorbs shock and can help keep top-heavy tools like drills and drivers upright. On the front of the battery you’ll find a dead-simple state of charge indicator, three lights that give you a good idea of how much juice is left in it. They’re compatible with all DeWalt 20V Max tools and chargers, and DeWalt says they deliver 50% more power and a longer lifespan than their other batteries, largely thanks to the pouch cell technology that makes them their best performing batteries. They can make your tools work better, in other words, a remarkable thing that goes beyond running tools.
“The Goldilocks battery” is what one customer called each of these. They “feel like the perfect size for drills, impact drivers, screw guns, and such,” less frustrating than the 1.7Ah batteries and less unwieldy than the 5Ah batteries that are better for heavier duty tools.
One shopper agreed that they “really like the physical size of this battery and the lighter weight” combined with “plenty of power and run time.” Another added that they are “impressed with these batteries” because “they have good power and last a long time.”
