A good set of screwdrivers is part of the foundation of every decent tool collection, as useful for homeowners as they are seasoned professionals. Craftsman makes some great screwdrivers, of course, and you can get a dozen of them at Amazon for a price that belies how much use and how many years you’ll get out of them.
The Craftsman 12-Piece Screwdriver Set is just $25 at Amazon. That’s just over $2 per tool for a set that will almost certainly have the right tool for 99% of the things you ever need to do with a screwdriver. And beyond being confident that this set has the screwdriver you need, you can also be confident that the screwdrivers in question are built with usability and durability in mind.
Audience FavoriteThis set comes with six flat-head screwdrivers, four Phillips-head screwderivers, one offset screwdriver with both types of heads, and one magnetizer and demagnetizer. Various bit sizes and lengths are included, and every head is made of alloy steel heat-treated and coated with a satin-nickel finish to resist corrosion. The red, blue, and clear handles are made of sturdy acetate and designed to feel comfortable in your hand in high- and low-torque applications. They’re covered by a full lifetime warranty, and Craftsman promises to replace them if they “fail to perform for any reason.”
Many shoppers couldn’t help but mention that these screwdrivers have a certain nostalgic quality because both the look and quality of Craftsman tools doesn’t seem to have changed since the Sears days. One shopper called this “a great set” and loved “the look, the ergonomics, and the value.” Another wrote that this isn’t “the old school Sears set, but they function just the same.”
Other customers highlighted the fact that the set includes “the essential sizes at an affordable price” and is designed to be both “durable and ergonomic.” Beyond nostalgia, the consensus is that these screwdrivers perform just as well as their progenitors did in decades past.
