Overview
The 2025 Mazda CX-70 midsize SUV arrives as a new two-row crossover that shares almost everything with the existing three-row CX-90, except for that third seating row. Buyers choose from three electrified powertrains: a 3.3-liter turbocharged inline-six paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system in two output levels, or a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid setup. Every model uses an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque distribution. In the showroom, it lines up against rivals such as the Honda Passport, Chevrolet Blazer, and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
What’s New for 2025
The 2025 CX-70 enters the lineup as a new model. It shares the CX-90’s rear-biased AWD architecture and bodywork, but adopts darker styling details that give the vehicle a more athletic look. Exterior trim, mirrors, roof rails, and window surrounds all appear in black rather than chrome. Inside, the main difference is that it has only two seating rows, not three. The lineup includes seven trim and powertrain combinations. The PHEV model delivers up to 26 miles of electric-only driving.
Exterior
The CX-70 follows Mazda’s Kodo design language with a long hood and a planted stance. Dark exterior accents replace chrome throughout the bodywork to emphasize the sport-oriented theme. Standard models ride on 19-inch gray alloy wheels, while Turbo S trims move up to 21-inch wheels.
Signature LED headlights with auto-leveling come standard equipment. Higher trims include an adaptive front-lighting system and automatic power-folding mirrors. Optional exterior colors include Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Rhodium White Premium, Polymetal Gray Metallic, Zircon Sand Metallic, and Melting Copper Metallic, each priced at $595.

Interior
Inside, a 12.3-inch center display and a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster operate through Mazda Connect. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with Alexa Built-in and a wireless charging pad. Base trims use leatherette upholstery, while Premium trims move up to leather seating.
The Turbo S Premium Plus adds quilted Nappa leather in tan, along with suede dashboard inserts. A Bose audio system appears on higher trims. Cargo space measures 39.6 cubic feet behind the second row and expands to 75.3 cu-ft when the 60/40 rear seats fold.
