Overview
The 2025 Genesis G70 is a driver-focused compact sports sedan with a strong value proposition. Built on a rear-wheel-drive platform with optional all-wheel drive, the G70 offers two turbocharged engines, standard Brembo brakes, and an 8-speed automatic transmission across the lineup. It blends classic sports-sedan proportions with a refined cabin and an unusually generous warranty package, making it a credible alternative to established European rivals.
For 2025, G70 buyers can choose between the 2.5T and the more powerful 3.3T Sport Advanced, each offered in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

What’s New for 2025
The 2025 model year brings minimal changes. The only update is the addition of a new matte exterior paint color called Burleigh Blue. The most significant recent revision occurred for 2024, when Genesis replaced the previous 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a larger 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. That upgrade increased output and helped strengthen the G70’s base performance credentials.Â
Other previously introduced changes included standard Brembo brakes, revised interior controls, USB-C ports, and updated paint, wheel, and trim options. For 2025, Genesis carries those improvements forward unchanged.

Exterior
The G70’s styling reflects Genesis’ signature design language, with a large Crest Grille and slim Quad Lamp LED headlights that give the front end a wide, planted look. The long hood and short rear deck emphasize its rear-drive proportions, while subtle sculpting along the body sides adds visual tension without overcomplicating the design.
All trims ride on 19-inch alloy wheels. The Sport Advanced models feature dark gray sport wheels and red Brembo brake calipers that reinforce the car’s performance intent. LED headlamps and rear combination lamps are standard, as are high beam assist and heated outside mirrors. Higher trims include power-folding and auto-dimming mirrors with Genesis logo puddle lamps and additional dark chrome exterior accents.

Interior
Inside, the G70 maintains its driver-centric layout. A 10.25-inch navigation display supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM capability, and Genesis Connected Services. Physical controls for key climate and audio functions remain in place, which we prefer.
The 2.5T Standard trim features leatherette seating, while higher trims upgrade to leather. Heated front seats come standard, and ventilated front seats are available on upper trims. A 12-way power driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support is standard, and additional comfort features such as an integrated memory system, power telescopic steering wheel, and wide sunroof appear on higher configurations.
The cabin feels well assembled, with soft-touch materials and thoughtful detailing throughout. Front-seat comfort is strong, with good bolstering and supportive cushioning. Rear-seat legroom is tighter than some competitors, and trunk capacity measures only 10.5 cubic feet, which is on the small side for the segment.

Price Range and Best Value Trim
| Trim | MSRP |
| 2.5T 4dr Sedan | $42,500 |
| 2.5T 4dr Sedan AWD | $44,600 |
| 3.3T Sport Advanced 4dr Sedan | $50,950 |
| 3.3T Sport Advanced 4dr Sedan AWD | $53,050 |
The 2025 Genesis G70’s price range starts at $42,500 and stretches to $53,050 for the top-spec 3.3T Sport Advanced AWD. However, the best value trim is the 3.3T Sport Advanced with rear-wheel drive. For just under $51,000, it delivers a 365-hp twin-turbo V6, standard Brembo brakes, sport-focused styling, and a strong list of comfort and technology features. The price increase over the 2.5T is meaningful but reasonable considering the substantial jump in power and performance.

Verdict
The 2025 Genesis G70 compact sports sedan remains a compelling compact luxury sports sedan that prioritizes driving engagement without sacrificing everyday comfort. The standard 2.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 300 hp and delivers brisk acceleration, while the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 raises output to 365 hp and provides a noticeably stronger surge of power.
The chassis feels composed and responsive, and standard Brembo brakes reinforce the car’s performance credentials. Inside, the G70 offers a thoughtfully designed cabin with quality materials and a strong technology suite. While rear-seat and trunk space limit practicality compared with some rivals, the combination of performance, design, and warranty coverage keeps the G70 highly competitive.
