The 2026 Toyota 4Runner in a Nutshell
From a pickup with a fiberglass top and extra seats to a fully-fledged SUV, the Toyota 4Runner was a pioneer in its class. Today, it’s one of Toyota’s longest-running nameplates, now over 40 years old.
We’re now in the sixth generation of the 4Runner, and it’s still a fairly new design, introduced in 2024 for the 2025 model year. It’s the most advanced and most powerful version to date, and there’s even a hybrid version – a sign of the times. Given that it’s fresh off a full redesign, the 2026 models are largely carried over from last year.

2026 Toyota 4Runner Lease Deals for March
Like most Toyota lease deals, the offer for the 4Runner is for the entry-level model. But the good news here is that it’s for the 4WD model, so for the more adventurous folks, this might be worth checking out. In this case, it’s for the SR5 4WD trim, and it goes for juts $399 for 36 months with $3,999 due at signing.
That rate is significantly less than last month’s offer, so there are savings to be had here. Mileage is limited to 10,000 miles per year, and it’s $0.15 per mile for all mileage exceeding that. This offer is valid until March 31, 2026.

2026 Toyota 4Runner Highlights
For pricing, the 2026 Toyota 4Runner starts at $41,570 to $67,700 with 12 trims total, evenly split between gas and hybrid models. For gas models, it starts with the SR5, followed by TRD Sport and TRD Sport Premium. Then there’s the TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, and Limited. As for the hybrids, these are TRD Off-Road i-Force Max, TRD Off-Road i-Force Max Pro, Limited i-Force Max, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter.
Standard equipment includes Toyota Safety Sense, wireless phone connectivity, and it wouldn’t be a 4Runner without that roll-down tailgate window. 2WD is the standard drivetrain for most ICE models, namely SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, and Limited, with 4WD being an option. 4WD is standard on all hybrid models, as well as on the TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium trims.

Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a crossover-like experience behind the wheel, the 4Runner isn’t for you. But despite the pickup underpinnings, it still offers a smooth ride for what it is, and it helps that it’s surprisingly light to drive, too. It bridges the gap between capable old-school SUVs and modern refinement and conveniences. For those who want an SUV that can actually go off-road, it’s a good time to cue for one of these – especially with these lease deals. These are much cheaper than the Land Cruiser, too.
