An incredibly powerful and modern machine
The Corvette has come a long way from the first-generation models that first rolled out in 1953. Now into its eighth generation, the brand has really found its groove as a high-performance, luxury offering that still pays homage to its roots. With more power and performance than any previous Corvette to date, the C8 ZR1 was only announced last year and entered production for this year, 2025.
Today’s feature is still at the cutting edge of what’s possible, and with only eight miles on the odometer, it’s also about as new as they come. The owner also claims that today’s feature is one of only four convertibles from this year’s production finished in Rapid Blue, which Corvette has discontinued on all future factory models.

Putting the rapid in Rapid Blue
As mentioned above, this ZR1 is covered bumper to bumper in a Rapid Blue finish, which is fairly exclusive and rare. Plenty of black carbon fiber undertones have been included to give the car a great deal of personality, and there’s even a splash of yellow courtesy of Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs with yellow-finished multi-piston calipers. The all-black grille is wide and covers the whole length of the front, but this machine is so hungry that additional side air intakes were needed.
The carbon-fiber hard top is fully power-retractable, set over the mid-set engine compartment. A pair of rear fender scoops adds additional style and flair, while a quad exhaust set in the middle of the rear black bumper manages fumes and heat while looking great doing so. The keen-eyed may have noticed that the wheels look slightly different in size, and that’s because they are. Up front, there’s a 20″ carbon-flash-finished latticework of 20 spokes, while the rear is identical save for being a whole inch larger at 21″. Both are shod in Michelin tires, and the effect of their size difference is augmented by a front-axle adjustable lift kit.

Can’t sing the blues while being this comfortable
The blue theme continues inside, with a mix of darker Twilight Blue and brighter Tension Blue two-tone leather upholstery covering the fully heated and ventilated GT2 bucket seats.
Dual-zone climate control ensures the driver and passenger can be as comfortable as possible without compromise, and the entire interior has been outfitted with what Corvette calls the “Stealth Interior Trim Package”.
A full-length console runs from behind the seats up to the dash, creating a clear line of separation. Entertainment is provided by a Bose sound system featuring 14 separate speakers, all controlled by the 8″ central touchscreen kitted with Chevrolet Infotainment 3 and the “Performance Data Recorder”, taking high-quality video and data from your drive. Other quality of life comforts include keyless entry, cruise control, rear parking assist with front and rear cameras, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, side blind-zone alert, and forward collision alert.
The two-spoke steering wheel is all black leather and carbon-fiber, more of a curvy hexagon than a circle. The thick spokes are roughly at the 4-and-8 o’clock positions, and several tactile buttons and paddle shifters to reduce driver distraction are on offer. Behind it is a 12″ digital display, which can be customized along with a heads-up display. A Launch Edition badge with a serial number can be found between the seats.

Corvette’s best performance yet
A monster of a twin-turbocharged 5.5L (336ci) LT7 V8 has been mounted in the center-rear of the car, an unusual placement for Corvette historically, but one that gives it the edge. A factory-rated 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft torque give the best raw power a stock Corvette model has ever had, able to pull off a 0-60 time in just 2.3 seconds. All of that power is sent to the rear wheels by way of an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle, combining the transmission, differential, and rear axle into one assembly for just that little extra performance. The quad-barrel performance exhaust system with driver-selectable modes is factory standard yet anything but ordinary, giving a remarkable growl. With only 8 miles on the odometer, this beast isn’t even broken in yet and is ready for a chance to stretch its legs.
