BMW has kept details of the next M5 close to the chest. One of the few things we know for sure is that it will have an unusual all-wheel-drive system that can be switched to rear-drive only. But we can now expand our short list to include the look of the front end thanks to the title card for Need For Speed Payback.
While we were examining the title card (shown below for reference), we noticed that the BMW in the background looked like an M version, but it didn't match the M3, M4, or M750Li. That's when we realized the headlights were a dead-ringer for the 5 Series, and that it very likely is the M5. Other evidence to support our theory comes from past spy photos, specifically some from just a couple of weeks ago. The front bumper of that test car has grilles shaped just the car in the Need For Speed image.
Even though we believe strongly that this is the next BMW M5, we can't say with absolute, 100 percent certainty until BMW reveals the car itself. Of course, the date the car will be shown is yet another detail the company is hiding. We do expect more info on the car to arrive later in the year.
