We'll show you the live debuts, our editors will comment on the big happenings at the show, and we'll have a few automotive executives stopping by to talk about their new products. The stars of The List and Translogic, two of our original video series, will also be on hand.

But that's not all. Our annual Technology of the Year award will be announced during the Detroit Auto Show press days, and you'll be able to watch that live webcast right here, as well. We're doing things a little different this year, splitting the Tech of the Year award into two categories. One award will be given to the best individual technology, and another award will be given to the best tech car. You'll be able to hear more about our finalists over the next couple of weeks.

NAIAS Announces Autoblog As The Offical Live Webcast Partner For 2016

Autoblog Will Present Two Technology of the Year Awards at the 2016 North American International Auto Show

DETROIT, Dec. 11, 2015 -- The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) announced today that Autoblog, a leading automotive media platform owned by AOL Inc., will be the Official Live Webcast Partner for the 2016 NAIAS. As part of Autoblog's onsite NAIAS activities, the editors will announce their Technology of the Year Awards on Monday, January 11 at 3:50 from their stage in the main auto show concourse. This year, the title will be split into two different awards, with one being given to a vehicle and one to a feature.

"Having Autoblog bring these awards from CES to the North American International Auto Show is not only a welcomed addition to our show, but will play a key role in highlighting the cutting-edge vehicles and technologies on display," said Paul Sabatini, 2016 NAIAS Chairman. "We're proud to have Autoblog recognize the global reach and significance of the NAIAS and we look forward to hearing which companies will win these coveted awards."

In addition to announcing its Technology of the Year awards, Autoblog will have a booth on the main concourse of NAIAS and will be live-streaming press conferences and conducting interviews during the press preview. The booth will feature interactive demos of the latest Autoblog virtual reality content alongside a live set where hosts from the brand's original video series Translogic and The List will anchor live coverage of the press preview. The video coverage will also include appearances from Autoblog editors and industry executives.

"The North American International Auto Show is the biggest automotive stage, and Detroit is the obvious choice to present the Autoblog Technology of the Year trophies," said Mike Austin, editor-in-chief of Autoblog. "We spent the entire year combing through the best automotive technology and we're excited to present our awards in front of this global crowd and as part of the new live-stream experience. We plan to make the Autoblog Technology of the Year presentation from NAIAS for years to come."
