At the Geneva Motor Show barely a month ago, Land Rover began teasing its plan to launch a new Discovery (currently known as the LR4 in the US). Now it looks like it's going to be just a few weeks before we actually get to see the new truck, at least in concept form. The British automaker has released a new teaser image and trailer for the Discovery Vision Concept that is debuting at the New York Auto Show, on April 16.

Land Rover isn't letting much out about its new truck yet. The company promises that the "new concept will showcase the design and technology vision for a future new family of Discovery vehicles." However, the accompanying video sheds a little more light on the Vision. It appears to have a sleeker take on the Disco's traditionally boxy shape, and the prominent rear pillar from previous generations has been incorporated as a full design element. Inside, it appears to have three rows of seats with a sliding second row that can at least partially be folded away. The instruments appear to be using a similar ride mode selector as the Range Rover as well.

LR has been clear that the next-generation Discovery encompasses a whole family of vehicles, but it hasn't gone into detail about what this means yet. The brand has been rumored to be separating its models into luxury, dual purpose and leisure categories. Scroll down to watch the teaser video for the concept and read LR's brief statement about it.
