We've already discussed its robust social media program, which is seeing it directly engage with owners of affected vehicles via Twitter and Facebook, as well as the fact that its overall brand perception hasn't taken a huge hit. Now, we're seeing CEO Mary Barra, who is slated to go before both the US House and Senate, step in front of the camera to directly address some of the biggest questions posed by owners of the affected cars.
Barra and GM go to some lengths to put customers' minds at ease following the recall, informing them that GM engineers have signed off on the safety of vehicles that haven't had their ignition switches repaired. Barra also updates customers on when replacement parts will be available and why it took so darn long to announce a recall. There's also some talk about GM's newest hires, including Jeff Boyer, which are aimed at making sure something like this never happens again.
