The fourth-generation Nissan Altima continues to sell moderately well after five years of production, and Nissan is hoping that will hold true for 2012. This sixth year of existence will come with few changes, except for a slightly higher MSRP and one very affordable technology package.

Nissan says that the new Altima Sedan 2.5 CVT will now start at $20,410 plus destination, up $140 from 2011 numbers. The 2.5 S CVT is also up $140 with a base price of $22,570, while the top trim 3.5 SR CVT will now set you back $25,430, or $320 more than the 2011 model.

The Altima Coupe also received new pricing: $30,760 for the Altima Coupe 3.5 SR with a six-speed manual transmission. That's $210 more than 2011, and $2,330 more than the Altima Coupe 3.5 SR with CVT transmission. That's right, you'll be paying up for a stick-shift.

That new tech pack we were telling you about? The appropriately named Value Package costs $490, and includes Bluetooth, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and auto headlights. Hit the jump to read over the Nissan press release.

About the 2012 Altima Sedan and Altima Coupe
Now in the sixth year of its refined fourth generation design, the Nissan Altima Sedan continues to provide an innovative combination of quality, exhilarating performance, sporty design and exceptional value in the mid-size sedan class. With strong sales in the 2011 model year, Altima Sedan's sales momentum shows no signs of slowing down in 2012.

The 2012 Altima Sedan is available in three well-equipped models – the 2.5 CVT and 2.5 S CVT featuring a 175-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder and the 3.5 SR CVT with a standard 270-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine.

The 2-door Nissan Altima Coupe, like its 4-door Altima Sedan stablemate, offers high quality and high value – while adding an extra touch of aggressive coupe styling for Altima customers seeking a more personal expression of individuality and sporty appearance. The Altima Coupe's unique exterior design stands out in a crowd of sedan-based 2-door models with magnetic, perfectly proportioned styling and a shorter wheelbase, shorter overall length and lower height than the Altima Sedan. The smaller size and lighter overall weight also contribute to the Coupe's sportier driving feel.

The 2012 Altima Coupe is available in 2.5 S and 3.5 SR trim levels, equipped with 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder and 3.5-liter V6 engines, respectively.

The 2012 Nissan Altima Sedan and Altima Coupe are offered with a range of popular comfort and convenience features, including standard Nissan Intelligent Key™ and available Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Bluetooth® Audio Streaming, RearView Monitor and Nissan Navigation with XM NavTraffic® and NavWeather™ Real-Time Traffic Information services (XM® subscription required, sold separately).

The 2012 Altima Sedan and Coupe are manufactured in the United States.
