For reasons we can't comprehend, here's a music video starring the all-new, 2015 Ford Mustang and a number of dancers dressed and styled in the most stereotypically 1980s way possible. The dancers then take part in a male-versus-female dance off. Again, we've no idea why it exists.

It's weird, and for the second time in two weeks, we're sat at our computer wondering, "What are we watching?" That said, it does show the new Mustang from a number of angles, and it's one of the first car-related YouTube videos we've seen that's available in a 4K, ultra-high-def stream.

Considering that the average new Mustang buyer today was in their late teens and twenties back in the 1980s, an '80s themed video probably has nostalgic appeal to many potential buyers.

I don't think this is a Ford Commercial. I think the kids got a hold of a Mustang and made a funny video. Like was mentioned, there wouldn't be a Chevy in the background. Also, this was filmed by amateurs in Utah, which is not a huge advertising hub for FoMoCo.

I wish Ford went more extreme in design with the 50th anniversary Mustang.

The 2015 Mustang is a great first step in a new design language direction for Ford, and ultimately for the Mustang. Think of the 2015 Mustang as the first appetizer arriving from the awesome kitchen. Then we'll get the 2020 Mustang as an even more evolved 2015-design. Then the 2027 Mustang, etc etc etc.

Really went over the fine points of the new Independent Rear Suspension with that ad.

The 80's were a special kind of weird. They hit the nail on the head, I loved it.

If a silly ad was enough to not make you want a car you probably didn't really want it in the first place.

It's well done commercial: - catchy song, - people of many races (global sales, new markets) - nice mustang pictures, - no lord vader kid, - no hamsters - everybody loves '80s - everybody wants fox body mustang

I agree too. Don't really get it from a 50th anniversary perspective (unless they are going through different generations) but as a regular commercial I thought it was pretty rad.
