A burnout is like a boast, the rubber-shredding equivalent of Babe Ruth pointing his fingers at the center-field bleachers. And everyone knows once you've boasted, you've got to back it up. If The Babe had grounded out to first, the "Called Shot" would be a laugh, not a legend.

After doing a little burnout for the onlookers, the driver of this Shelby Cobra replica above ends up on the wrong side of the equation when his Cobra bites back. Thankfully, nothing but bodywork and some pride was hurt. Hopefully the driver has learned his lesson and knows to lift off the brakes and steer next time. You can watch it all go wrong in the quick video below.

When you're stupid the whole body suffers. So does the underbody.

You don't learn to drive without screwing up a few times. The trick is finding the right place to screw up at.

money can't buy everything (like driving ability) but at least it will be able to fix his car. It's a clone anyway.

I've showboated and had some close calls too. I've matured, but I still feel bad for this guy.

Same. Now I won't do that crap outside of a race track, autoX course or large, empty parking lot. Hopefully this guy has learned and will keep this behavior where it belongs. In the guy's defense and everyone else's defense who does stuff like that, it would nice if there were more venue's available where people could go and mess around with their cars. It would probably cut down on people doing this on the street for lack of anywhere else to do it.
