We all know Koenigsegg makes blisteringly fast exotic cars. The latest hyper machine from Sweden is the Agera R, and Koenigsegg wanted to see just how fast its two-door toy could go. With the help of an (unnamed) third party to verify the results and a Racelogic VBox, the Koenigsegg team set out to make some high-speed passes at its Sweden-based proving ground.

The results... are amazing:

0-300 km/h (186 mph) = 14.53 sec
0-200 mp/h = 17.68 sec

300-0 km/h = 6.66 sec
200-0 mp/h = 7.28 sec

0-300-0 km/h = 21.19 sec
0-200-0 mp/h = 24.96 sec

The Koenigsegg Agera R has impressive acceleration numbers, but we're equally stunned by how quickly the car can come to a stop. Koenigsegg says it has video of the runs, which will be released soon. For now, all you can do is stare at the photo above and make vroom vroom noises while imagining the G-forces at play.

New World Records for Koenigsegg

Today the 2nd of September 2011 at 12.08 pm a standard Koenigsegg Agera R took several new production car world records at the Koenigsegg proving ground in Ängelholm, Sweden.

All data was measured and collected by a third party with the officially accepted Racelogic VBox performance recorder.

The Records truly show the Agera Rs phenomenal stability, acceleration and braking performance - and that presently its performance is in a leauge of its own. All results will be submitted to the Guinness Book of Records.

The numbers are as follows:
0-300 km/h = 14.53 sec
0-200 mp/h = 17.68 sec
300-0 km/h = 6.66 sec
200-0 mp/h = 7.28 sec
0-300-0 km/h = 21.19 sec
0-200-0 mp/h = 24.96 sec

Meteorological data: Wind was calm and came in straight from the side, not affecting the results. Weather was partially cloudy and fair. The test track is completely flat with no gradient.
Test track heading: 040 degrees
Wind direction: 290 degrees
Wind speed: 9 kts
Temp: 15.4 C
Pressure: 1015 HPA

In the next few days there will be a film presented to the public on youtube showing the record run. Stay tuned.

We are proud to announce that this record breaking car is heading to our partners in Singapore. It will be showcased at the Singapore Grand Prix FIA Formula One World Championship. This is the first Koenigsegg Agera R in Singapore. Don´t miss the opportunity to check this world champion out.

What's 'mp/h'??? 'mph'? Make up your mind. It is either 'm/h' or 'mph'. You didn't write 'kmp/h', did you? Where did 'mp/h' came from then? Although for Koenigsegg it's probably forgivable...

Could you imagine standing on the brakes at 200 mph? LOL!

That car is pulling 0.51g acceleration and 1.25G average braking. Talk about roller coaster ride, and that's before you even throw it into the corners. Can't wait to see what it does on track compared to other hyper cars.

Pretty sure your math isn't correct if you look at the times again.

Does anyone else have a problem with the fact that mp/h means miles per per hour? It's not the same as Km/h. That's kilometers per hour. That is correct. If you wanted to put in the division in miles per hour, you'd put "mi/h." The p in mph means per, and is the division.

That's pretty quick. For comparison, the Veyron supersport does 0-200mph in 22.2 seconds. Wonder if they'll top the Veyron's top speed...

See, Toyota? THIS is how you try to break records in a car of your's. You let a third party test it rather than you, therefore your run isn't questioned because your hands weren't on the car.

Why don't they release a video of that? I don't mean to question their numbers, but damn it is 2011.

I swear that there are faster cars 0-200 MPH or are only 1 or 2 of the figures actually world records?
