Nissan Quest teaser image – Click above to enlarge

Earlier this year, we reported that Nissan would be dropping the Quest minivan from its lineup for the 2010 model year, but we noted that a replacement is in the works. Today, Nissan is showing off this teaser image of the next-generation model which will go on sale in early 2011.

Details are slim as of this writing, but what we can gather from this shadowy photo is that the new Quest will look substantially different than the odd-looking outgoing model. While many automakers have been abandoning the minivan segment, Japanese rivals at Toyota and Honda continue to duke it out – the former with their new Sienna and the latter with their soon-to-be all-new Odyssey. Whether because of its avante-garde styling or occasionally indifferent quality control, Nissan's current Quest has never really found its sales groove here in North America. Will the new model change things? Only time will tell.

Along with top levels of quality and reliability, the all-new design is a fusion of sophistication, security and thoughtful utility for both families and empty-nesters alike. Now its Hyundai`s turn to get its style copied.

Looks good for a Nissan, as ugly as it is its better than the front clips on Nissan`s other models

EVERYTHING is starting to look good nowdays

Looks like a catfish....but I kinda like it. Certainly more interesting than Odyssey/Sienna
        • 4 Years Ago
Judging by the front alone, even the current Odyssey looks better.

And the Odyssey 'concept' recently revealed seems to be more promising. But we'll have to see the rest of the vehicle first before making any final statements.

Yup there still Japanese. Most all automakers are tied to other companies from around the world now days...Nissan/Renault just share technologies such as Nissans upcoming EV technology etc.

Wow hopefully the rest of the fan looks as good as the front....if so this will be a winner. The current gen Quest was always a little odd looking inside and out which is what really hurt its sales...this one appears to have much softer and more appealing lines.

agreed, looks nice, for a mini van. if only they were a little more mini (if that makes sense) Just a bit lower & wider, maybe with an adjustable ride height...Wagon-Van-SUV all in one without the monstrosity excess.
so far it's looking like the best designed minivan ever, but i'd have to reserve that final judgement untill I see the whole thing

the only other minivan to look good, is the Honda Odessy of the last generation - the new one seems to have been hit with the ugly stick like the Sienna

Thank god, it doesn't follow much of the 'juke' design language.

        Sorry, that was pointless.

Looks 100x better than the current version, and looks like it may be competitive if the performance/quality measure up with the looks.

What's shown in this picture looks to be taking some styling cues from the Murano, with the shape of the hood and the overall shape of the head lights.
