SpongeBob SquarePants Impala by IMF Kustoms - Click above for high-res image gallery

We were cruising through the back part of the central hall at SEMA, on the prowl for Camaros, Mustangs, Challengers something interesting when we were stopped dead in our tracks by this masterful use of pigment, cleverly disguising a late-eighties Chevy Caprice. Looks like SpongeBob has traded his pineapple for a box. The graphics are really stunning up close and depict everyone's favorite sponge in a variety of vignettes. The whole SpongeBob gang is there -- Patrick, Gary, Mr. Krabs, Squidward and Plankton are all there. Classic. Just one of the beautifully airbrushed vehicles we hope to share with you this week. Oh, and although it's a bit hard to see from the pics, the interior was equally well adorned -- seats, dash, headliner, the whole nine yards. Check it in the gallery below.

        *tweee-twee-twee-twee, twee-twee. TWEET*

For whatever reason, this car made me happy.

Oh, I know the reason, it's because it's that mix of silly and happy that just was done so well I can't NOT smile at it.

Same goes for the song, so thanks for that :D

Oh, what fresh hell is this???

Now, I need to find out if there's a way to psychologically un-see things.

Just to be pedantic, the car pictured is a late-'80s, or possibly early-'90s Caprice.

      Not a mid-'80s Caprice.

It's a shame that someone that artistically talented has such little taste. The quality of the work is incredible. Uglier than hell though.

Even Larry the Lobster got some action on that thing. Hey, at least it wasn't painted onto a Veyron like it would be if it was in the EAU.

      Why would you post this?
This is a serious auto enthusiasts site, not HoodRUs.

I kind of doubt this article was meant to be taken 100% seriously.
