Spy Shot?: Scion iQ concept caught before New York unveiling
With the April Fools jokes flying, we're having a hard time taking anything seriously, and the newest source of our skepticism comes in the form of a singular spy shot showing the Scion iQ concept ahead of its official unveiling at next week's New York Auto Show. The head-on pic gives us a glimpse of a reworked fascia, with a new front bumper sporting LED running lights, a revised splitter and Scion badge, but something just looks... off. The consensus around the Autoblog water-cooler is the shot may just have been lightened in Photoshop, giving it an odd aura, but we'll find out if it's legit soon enough – the New York show will kick off on Wednesday, where Toyota has already confirmed a new compact concept will be unveiled under the Scion brand. It looks weird but im not gonna say its fake... sure that since its the "concept" iQ its probably going to be the best looking the iQ will get imo

It's a "concept", so of course it's going to have some tacked-on plastic. What's important is this car is coming, sans-tacky plastic. I wonder how much it will cost, considering an xD is under $15k - well-equipped.
Could they push it for $9,990? That would be great!

I wish it was under $10K, but I think toyota will make it a "luxury mini", pricing it about the same as smart fortwo. It'll still get lots of buyers, though. Toyota iQ is a great little car and I can't see why Scion iQ wouldn't be.

It may prove to be a little more practical (3+1) than the Smart and probably less expensive (guessing) but the Smart has it beat in the looks department IMO.

I saw this thing doing laps in front of my office yesterday - I work in Anaheim, Ca and it was circling real slow in front of the promenade with a couple of photogs going to town on it... looked pretty neat, I gotta say - the widebody kit is real, at least in concept form - wide as anything else out there... I was very interested to see it...

Its 100% real. I saw lighting like that all the time working as a shipper. A lot of newer trailers have translucent ceiling panels that let in natural light to make loading and unloading easier. The older trailers are like caves. This is just a trailer with a translucent ceiling, thus the strange over lit surfaces in what would normally be a dark trailer.

This car was worked on by Five Axis... hard to say if the kit will ever reach production, but this car is real. The only other photo I have has been obscured as a teaser, but the color is the same.

The name iQ is brilliant, smart and think are retarded. Smart? What is "smart" about a car the size of a lawn tractor that gets 33/41 mpg? REALLY?! I can buy a civic and at least carry four plus cargo and get that. Anyway...
The iQ is brilliant, I would buy one in a second. Do it toyota! I still don't believe it because these stupid auto execs have no idea what we want or will buy. But the iQ makes more sense than a smart because A. its servicable at a million different dealerships - the nearest smart dealer to me is 2.5hrs. away, B. its a 3 seater - I can actually carry something in it!. And on and on, there are a million reasons why it is better than the dumb smart. You can't beat the japanese when it comes to small cars! Certainly not the dumb europeans!!!

Its allready on sale here in Portugal as a Toyota iQ.

Not a cheap car for its class, i have seen several that are going arround on a marketing campaing, they are very chunky, good loking.
But here you can get a Citroen C1 or a Peugeot 107 for a lot less than that and are build in the same factory and basicly have the same engines.

Thats not true they have a nice collection of collors from you to choose. Yesterday i visited the toyota showroom and they have 5 of those with 5 diferent colors, even one thats sort of black/purple color.
