Click above for gallery of 2010 Lexus RX leaked shots

Thanks to an astute Autoblog tipster, we have our very first look at the upcoming redesigned 2010 Lexus RX ahead of its official unveiling at the LA Auto Show next month. As you can see in the gallery below, which show shots from what appears to be a Japanese brochure, the new RX will retain the same basic shape and styling cues as the current model, but has been gone over with some fine grit sandpaper to smooth out the rough edges. In traditional Lexus fashion, while the new RX may look similar to the old one, we're absolutely certain every body panel is all new. The redesigned interior also features a seriously swoopy dash.

The new RX is also rumored to be larger than the current model with a longer wheelbase that may accommodate a third row of seating for the first time. We expect a revised version of the current model's 3.5L V6 to be offered, probably with more power and better fuel economy, as well as a new version of the RX400h hybrid. Take a look at the sneak preview in the gallery below and let us know what you think in the comments. Thanks for the tip, Stan!

in pic #5 that bump in the center console looks like some sort of controller for the navi... which might make sense, considering how far away the screen is.

I guess Lexus just couldn't resist the iDrive!

A giant leap backwards in design, both interior and exterior. That dash looks like a poor photoshop merge of two different dash designs. Exterior - Lexus always trailed far behind the true luxury cars in the exterior design. But this bland anonymous Kia minivan design is simply offensive. Although, they probably changed some design elements to compliment "Meet the Beckers" Audi commercials.

I like the interior, but the exterior is too bleh. Even the current exterior looks OK compared to this one.
Hopefully it will come with AWD standard (instead of FWD).

"A new version of the RX400h?" You mean the RX450h that's staring me right in the face? Obvious much? Did you donkeys even bother to look at these pictures?
The RX450H will be a new version of the RX400H. There's nothing wrong with what they said. They never called the new gen the RX400H.

It's just odd that they called it the RX400h in the post and didn't even mention the change (even though its looking them in the face).

        +1

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the RX450h in the brochure...Geez that's how Disney ended up with porn hidden in their kids movies!

What's with the baleen whale grille? Ugh!...Competent and very well built as always, I'm sure, but still screams aspirational soccer mom. (nothing against soccer moms)

Okay, can I safely say that their designs are getting worse and worse. The new SRX at least has some design style to it - this thing is a mish-mash of anything and everything that has come out in the last five years = Kia, Mitsubishi, Honda, you name it, it's there.

It's official then, the 2010 Cadillac SRX is the new it car for soccer moms. I knew the Caddy would destroy the current gen RX, but I had no idea that the next gen RX would be LESS cool than the current one. Guess I should've known from the Highlander.

Who put an "L" on the Murano?

Big disappointment in the looks department; Interior and Exterior. Probably be a huge success.

With all the freaking money Toyota has why can't they hire someone that can design a nice looking vehicle for Lexus and Toyota, I mean good gosh is a nice looking car a crime in Toyota world
      • 6 Years Ago
Is this now based on the Toyota Venza? Look at the rear D pillar, it looks identical to the Venza's and also look at the position of the console shift, same as the Venza. Hasn't the RX been based on the Highlander since its introduction.

Let me be the first to say, boring and I don't like it. But you know it will sell
        • 6 Years Ago
The Highlander, Venza, and RX are all based of the Camry platform.
Also, the Highlander came out 3 years [maybe 4?] after the Lexus RX.
