click for a high res gallery of a Carrera GT in the wild

You never what you're going to spot when you go for a little joy ride across America. Just moments ago as we crossed from Missouri into Arkansas on Interstate 55, a low slung black car with a big wing rolled by. After a quick double take I grabbed my camera and snapped off a few pics of the first Porsche Carrera GT I've ever seen on the street. If I was going to see one of these I certainly wouldn't have expected it in eastern Arkansas.

I think the fact that it's a GT with *Utah* plates in eastern Arkansas is the real shocker here...

Funny, I never realized how lucky I am to live it Vancouver...I've seen 4 or 5 already in this city!

Good on the owner, cars are meant to be driven not garaged!

I had a silver Carrera GT sighting last year in the Detroit area.

It was on Michigan Ave. heading east in Canton before Canton Center Road.

Never will forget my first ... CGT. Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, silver one, old man driving, AMAZING sound. The girl next to me just standing and watching my astonishment. That sound ... and that vision - one car can be: Carrera GT
P.S. Come to see in this little country what exotics they drive - http://www.vbox7.com/play:f77c12ce

First time I ever saw a Carrera GT was on the lift at the Porsche dealer within a month of it coming out. I was taking my Audi in to be fixed and there was a yellow Carrera GT in there on the lift. I asked about it, and the repair guy said that the guy who owned it got it 10 days before and when he got it he peeled out of the driveway as he left. Less than 10 days later it was back for a new clutch. He told me how much the clutch repair was supposed to cost (I forget, but it was in the low 5 figures) but he kind of implied they were going to get it to him under warranty.

Oh, and maybe now is when I can relate all the cars I saw two weeks ago in London. I was not in a poor part of London. I didn't even count the S550s or Jags I saw. I saw a 750Ld one day. Every day on my walk from my hotel to another I would see two Bentley Continental GTs and a Ferrari 612 parked on the street. I'd see an CL63 every day (it was all black, but I don't think it was a Black Edition), one day I saw an SL63 also.

Two days I saw a Mercedes-McLaren SLR (license plate 5LR), one of the days trying to find a parking spot on the street. I had never seen a Maybach before, one day I saw two less than 80 feet apart. I also saw an Aston Martin DB7 Zagato. I didn't realize until I came back and looked it up how rare it was.

This was all on Curzon street (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curzon_Street), so go check it out if you wanna see some amazing cars. But be careful, the Saudi Arabian embassy is on that street (among other things) and I once saw armed guards patrolling the area with MP5s.

      Yesterday, somewhere in Utah:

"Hey honey, I'm going to run over to the grocery store, need anything?"

      "Yeah, wait, I'll come too."

      slow news day eh?
this does remind me of a friend of a friend i had in taipei who's got a CGT. apparently his favorite thing to do was to go out at 3~4 am and drift the thing around a huge roundabout and just do donuts in the middle of the city... hehe.

Why is it that all C GT owners are old men in their 40s and 50s like the guy in the car with a really really young woman, in her Teens-20s?

This world is unfair! Oh cruel world...
