Lamborghini kind of confirms new super expensive supercar

"Regular" LP640 used for demonstration purposes
Jalopnik has busted the lid off the super-secret Lambo supercar that has been little more than a whisper campaign until now. Looks like Lambo leader Stephan Winkelmann has finally admitted what we've know for a little while. Up in Monterey we heard people talking in hushed voices about a new $1.5 million supercar based off the LP640, but with styling "inspired by jets." Winkelmann confirmed those rumors while announcing that we'd be seeing something special from Sant'Agata Bolognese at the Frankfurt Auto Show next week. We've heard that although the exterior is rather exceptional, it's what's on the inside that really matters the most. Something about a truly innovative dash that has folks abuzz. It better be good to command 5 times a normal LP's price tag.

I heard something about a full HUD and other stuff from a fighter jet.
Now only if it could have guns...

The picture is the LP, not the upcoming super-supercar

Pay attention! That is not the new super car in question..

Is it just me or does this new Lamborghini supercar sound utterly boring?

Ooooh.....
Imagine it:
a Twin Turbo LP640 engine (just like they did with the special edition VTTT Diablos), a cockpit that opens up like the Lambo Raptor concept, a fighterjet's HUD, and 4 tires... what more could you want ?
I'm not nervous about Lambo knocking this one out the park. It's what they do best :p
SHOW ME THE PICTURES AND SPECS ALREADY !!!!! I might fly to Frankfurt just for this :p

What, did Lamborghini buy Saab or something?

Those Saab commercials are so annoying. I don't care what your history says: a fighter jet has nothing to do with the production car that your company produces. Gimmicks are common all over the car market, but that one is just too far-fetched.
Sorry, that's been bothering me for a while. To pertain to the article, um, scissor doors.

To me, Lamborghinis all look the same, and considering their prices its hard for me to get excited over one. I liked em more when I was little.
The only one i've even remotely liked in recent years is that Police Gallardo (I think that was the model?) that the Italians got, but otherwise they're all just practically the same old boring style.
Yawn, give me a Nissan Skyline GT-R or an RS5 any day.

Im In Agreement With You Maestro. Im Finding It Hard Myself To Get Excited About A Car That Unless I Win The Lottery Will Not Be Sitting In My Garage. I Rarely Get Excited When I See One On The Street.

I hope it is much lighter. Real supercar engineering comes from making a car lighter, not adding turbos, AWD and carbon fiber inserts spread around the car.

lambo's rnt typically classed as "supercars" they're more "hypercars" basically just supercars that r so ridiculous that they r out of control. tires spinning through 3rd gear, definitely limit to corners that result in loss of control, ridiculous body styling, scissor doors... stuff like that. the sheer insanity of the car makes it a hypercar. so no, they dont have to make it lighter, just put a bigger engine in and bigger turbos. its all about power.

They Have Already Done That Rob. Its Called The Superleggerra

I want a Lambo just because its a rolling sculpture. For performance I'd take a Caparo T1.

Darn, every time I'm just about to have enough money for the top-of-the-line Lambo, they raise the bar. Oh well, guess I better start flipping more burgers... :P
