USA Today ran a piece from the floor of the L.A. Auto Show about the art of revealing new car models at a car show.
It’s an interesting read for those of you who have never gotten the chance to experience one in real life. Personally I
find them pretty lame. The best ones are when the executive comes out says why the car is great and the curtain drops
revealing a car. There’s no need to bust through a fake brick wall or come climbing down a fake mountain. Just show the
car on a podium and let everyone get up close and personal. Will any reporters be impressed that Jeff Gordon and Dale
Earnhardt Jr. drove the cars out? Well maybe a few. But that doesn’t make the new Monte Carlo any better of a car now
does it?
