Tesla will conduct its “final” unveil of its Model 3 in July, the same month the California-based automaker previously estimated that it would start delivery of the all-electric sedan. The company will also conduct its first reveal of its electric semi-truck in September, and is planning to unveil the first look of its pickup truck in 18 to 24 months. So said company chief Elon Musk in a series of
tweets on Thursday.

Tesla, which is notorious for missing production deadlines,
estimated in February that it would start deliveries of the Model 3 in July, and that full-tilt production would be in place in September. At least
one analyst countered he expected Tesla to miss those deadlines, though investors appear to be ignoring him, as the stock has surged about 24 percent since that late-February prognosis, and this week
leapfrogged the market value of longtime automotive manufacturers.

During the first quarter of the year, Tesla delivered about 11,550 Model S SUVs, compared to about 13,450 Model S sedans.

Musk late last month
tweeted a video of the Model 3’s “release candidate version,” indicating that the company is very close to its final version, at least from an exterior standpoint. As for the semi, Tesla first announced its intentions to produce a heavy-duty hauler last summer and has tapped Jerome Guillen to help lead that project. Gillen notably headed Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler’s efforts to develop its own test version of a plug-in truck before joining Tesla in 2012.
