Lola Cars have announced that they will begin limited series production of one of the legendary
endurance racers of the late 60s and early ‘70s, the Lola T70 Mk3b.
The first car of the new
edition will be unveiled at the Autosport Racing Car Show January 12. The new cars will be a direct continuation of the
original car, to the original specifications.
During a period when the Ford, Ferrari and Porsche factory
teams were shaping international endurance racing, the Lola was the only car that allowed privateers to compete on a
level playing field with the factory racers. Powered by a 5-liter Chevy engine, the Mk3B won the 24 hours of Daytona
for Roger Penske in the hands of the late Mark Donohue and Chuck Parsons.
