Spy Shots: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

To be totally honest, when we heard that there were new shots of the Mercedes Benz C-Class floating around the webiverse, we didn’t pay much attention. We’ve seen so damn many of them over the past few months that more pics of the camo’d four-door sedan are hardly enough to get our attention anymore. Then we saw them.

Frau Priddy and her long-lensed militia were able to catch the entry-level Merc virtually uncovered and snapped a pic of the rear three-quarter view. Although none of this anything revolutionary, the accompanying shots leave about as much to the imagination as a copy of Penthouse, since the camo is practically shrink-wrapped onto the body panels.

According to Priddy, we should see the C-Class unveiled this March in Geneva, with coupe, convertible and wagon variants to debut over the following year. Expect power on the low end of the line to utilize a 1.8-liter four, producing between 150 and 190 HP, with the higher ups receiving either a 2.5-liter V6 making 210 HP or a 3.5-liter V6 dishing out 270 HP. Naturally, an AMG version will be offered and will be graced with the tuning division’s 5.4-liter V8 making over 400 HP in order to do battle with its hi-po German competition.

Diesels, 4MATIC all-wheel-drive and an “iDrive-like” interface pulled from the S-class will also be available when the new model is released.
