Sales of full-size pickups remained steady, even in the face of sinking SUV transactions and climbing fuel
prices… but it looks like the party is starting to slow down for the largest segment in the US market.

This could be attributable to any number of causes. Perhaps it’s a delayed reaction to last summer’s fuel prices,
or it could be that the records truck sales over the past few years have simply placed enough product in the hands of
the consumers who need/want this type of vehicle. Regardless, it doesn’t look like the market is yet in full crisis
mode, but stockpiles are growing around the country, and there’s expected to be a 6-percent drop in full-size pickup
sales in 2006.
