A portable air conditioner this large can be a game changer for a garage or workshop during the back half of summer. If you’re working on cars, detailing, sanding, organizing tools, lifting weights, doing weekend projects, or trying to use a shop space that turns into an oven by mid-afternoon, extra cooling from a portable AC unit can make the whole area feel more usable. It’s also a good option for basements, large bedrooms, living rooms, offices, apartments, and other rooms where the main HVAC system needs help.
For a limited time, you can get the Urbanite 16,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner on sale at Amazon for $330, down from its regular $600 price. To get that full deal, be sure to click the on-page digital coupon for $40 in additional savings before checking out. That brings the final price down to $330, which is a massive 45% discount on a high-output portable AC with plenty of summer still left this year.
This portable AC pumps out a 16,000 BTU cooling capacity and coverage for spaces up to 750 square feet, making it one of the stronger models we’ve seen on sale recently. That larger coverage rating is what makes it especially appealing for garages, workshops, larger basements, open living areas, offices, and other spaces where a smaller portable unit may struggle. It has an adjustable temperature range from 61 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can use it for serious cooling during peak heat or just take the edge off while you work.
The unit also includes cool, dry, fan, and sleep modes, plus a 24-hour timer for more flexible use throughout the day. The dry mode can help with humid basements and sticky summer air, while the 40-decibel sleep-mode noise level is useful if you want to run it in a bedroom, office, or meeting space without too much background noise. It also comes with a window kit for vertical and horizontal sliding windows measuring 25.6 inches to 49 inches, and the 360-degree casters make it easier to roll between rooms. For cooling a garage, shop, basement, or larger room through the rest of summer, this is an affordable way to beat the heat.
One buyer commented, “This 16,000 BTU portable air conditioner cools large rooms quickly and efficiently. It provides strong airflow and helps maintain a comfortable temperature even on hot days. A reliable choice for staying cool and comfortable.”
“This portable air conditioner has been perfect for the summer heat,” said another happy user. “Its compact size makes it easy to [use] anywhere. It has worked better than I expected.”
