Most Makita batteries fall into the same price range as DeWalt batteries. However, Makita doesn’t discount its batteries as often as DeWalt does, which is why you should make it a point to buy one or two any time you see them go on sale if you’re a Makita tool user.
If you’ve been thinking about buying the Makita 18V LXT 5Ah Battery, you can score one for almost 50% off at the moment. It usually sells for $169, but it’s currently marked down to just $86, which is a steal for a battery of its size. While you’re at it, you might also want to consider adding the Makita 7.2/18V Universal Battery Charger to your Walmart cart, as it normally retails for $129 but is on sale for only $94 for a limited time.
This Makita battery is a step up from the Makita 18V LXT 3Ah Battery, with Makita claiming that it offers about 65% more runtime. It also charges fully in just 45 minutes, reducing delays during auto repairs and home improvement projects.
Additionally, the battery boasts both a shock-absorbing inner liner and an impact-resistant outer case. These features make it remarkably durable, so it can handle whatever you might throw at it on a job site.
You will need to check your Makita power tools to make sure this battery is compatible, as it’s designed to work only with Star Protection tools (your tools will have either a star symbol or a yellow battery receiver if they fall into this category). This is because the battery comes equipped with Star Protection Computer Controls that can prevent potential problems like overloading, overheating, and overdischarging.
As long as it does, you can enjoy the peace of mind that SPCC provides. You will also love the battery’s integrated LED charge-level indicator, which keeps you in the loop on how much life it has left, and its ability to keep working in extreme temperatures.
