After nearly two decades touting itself as “the real driving simulator,” the PlayStation-exclusive Gran Turismo franchise remains a cornerstone of the racing game genre, so much so that it even inspired a theatrical film. Gran Turismo 7 is no exception, and for a limited time, the PS4 version is just $20 while it’s marked down to $47 for a PS5 copy .

In classic GT form, Gran Turismo 7 recreates iconic cars — such as the Ferrari F40, Lexus LFA, and Bugatti Veyron — and places them on highly detailed tracks. Through a series of progressively arduous tests, you’re challenged to improve your driving abilities as you make your way through a campaign mode that stealthily educates newcomers about the different classes of cars and the history surrounding them.
In a sense, Gran Turismo 7 is an educational tool disguised as a love letter for car enthusiasts. It even opens with an 8-minute complete telling of the history of the automobile, starting with the first internal combustion engine in a running automobile and ending with Gran Turismo 7 because of course it does.
“This is probably the best car racing simulation I have ever played,” said one Gran Turismo 7 shopper. “The graphics are phenomenal and the car handling is very realistic.”
“The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is smooth, and the attention to detail is impressive,” added another customer. “It truly showcases the capabilities of the PS5.”
If you’re looking for a last-minute gift for the aspiring motorsports driver in your life (or just someone interested in learning more about cars), you can’t beat $20 for the PS4 version , and $47 for the PS5 version is still a significant drop from the original $70.
