Overview
The 2025 Toyota Sienna is the only minivan that is exclusively available as a hybrid, combining Toyota’s familiar 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder with two electric motors to produce 245 hp. The powertrain is optimized for efficiency, not outright performance, and the 36 mpg combined the Sienna achieves is 40% better than the V6 Honda Odyssey, with the optional AWD option exacting only a 1 mpg penalty in exchange for all-weather traction. The Sienna is ideal for families looking for a roomy and efficient hybridized minivan with AWD capability and Toyota reliability.

What’s New for 2025
The 2025 Sienna gets an updated cabin with improved materials, including revised fabrics and new wood trim, but the biggest news is the tech advances being made. All trims get Toyota’s latest infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen on the LE and a 12.3-inch display on all the other trims, and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety is shored up by adding Advanced Rear Seat Reminder that uses radar to detect remaining passengers to all trims. Old-style USB-A ports are replaced by the newer USB-C standard, and the output of the (standard) wireless device charger is upped. The exterior styling and mechanical specs stay the same.
Exterior
At 203.7 inches long and sitting on a 120.5-inch wheelbase, the Sienna’s substantial body is dressed in typical minivan proportions to maximize interior volume. Toyota’s corporate grille is flanked by LED headlights and dominates the frontal aspect, with the XSE adding a sportier bumper. This trim also runs on 20-inch alloy wheels, while the adventure-focused Woodland Edition gets rugged body cladding. Roof rails and power sliding side doors are standard, and a hands-free power liftgate with program

Interior
The Sienna’s interior is all about practicality and space. The second-row captain’s chairs can slide forward and backward by 25 inches to either maximize legroom or access to cargo, and the Limited and Platinum’s chairs can recline like those of a luxury sedan and feature ottomans. Storage space is abundant, including no fewer than 18 cupholders and generous center-console storage. With nearly 39 inches of available legroom, the third row accommodates adults with ease. There’s 33.5 cu-ft of cargo space with the third row in use and 75.2 cu-ft with it folded. The biggest negative in the cabin is that the second row cannot be folded down like that of the Pacifica or removed like that of the Odyssey.

Price Range and Best Value Trim
| Trim Level | Price |
| Base trim: LE 8-Passenger FWD | $39,185 |
| Top trim: Platinum AWD | $56,145 |
| Best value trim: XLE FWD | $43,995 |
The 2025 Toyota Sienna’s price at the base of the lineup just squeaks in below $40k for the LE trim, but it’s the XLE that offers the best balance for families with its bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen, second-row captain’s chairs, premium materials, and power liftgate, while still staying well clear of the Limited’s $50k price point.

Toyota’s standard warranty coverage is supplemented by roadside assistance and complimentary ToyotaCare maintenance, both valid for two years or 25,000 miles – a handy advantage over the Odyssey, which offers neither. The rest of the warranty terms are as follows:
| Coverage Type | Duration |
| Basic | 3 years/36,000 miles |
| Powertrain | 5 years/60,000 miles |
| Hybrid Battery | 10 years/150,000 miles |
| Hybrid System | 8 years/100,000 miles |
| Complimentary Maintenance | 2 years/25,000 miles |
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Segment-leading 36 mpg combined EPA fuel economy
- Available AWD with almost no efficiency penalty
- Spacious 3-row seating with exceptional second-row space and comfort
- 10-year/150,000-mile hybrid battery warranty
- Two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance included
Cons:
- The second-row seats don’t remove or stow in the floor
- Slower acceleration than competitors
- The engine drones loudly during hard acceleration
Verdict
The 2025 Sienna is an excellent minivan with unmatched hybrid efficiency that translates into substantial real-world savings. Handily, an AWD version with nearly the same fuel economy is available as well, making it unique in this class. There aren’t any glaring compromises except for three. With a 0-60 sprint of about 7.5 seconds, there isn’t a lot of reserve power on tap, so merging and overtaking require some planning, bringing us to the second problem – the loud drone of the rather unrefined engine when leaned on. The third problem is the fixed second row of seats that can’t fold or be removed, so it always leaves a partially obstructed space behind the first row.
Cabin quality is good – and has been improved further this year – and tech is up to date, with a responsive 12.3-inch screen on most trims and a better rear-seat reminder system this year. Pricing is also competitive, and a starting point of below $40k for the LE is a bonus, though we’d recommend stretching for the XLE, which offers optimal value at $43,995, making the $57k Platinum AWD seem excessive. If your family requires a hybridized AWD minivan, the Sienna has zero rivals in the market, uniquely combining 35-mpg economy with all-weather ability. If you can accept the negatives, it’s a brilliant family minivan.
