Overview
The 2027 Jeep Wagoneer S midsize electric SUV returns this year with an NACS charging port and Tesla Supercharger compatibility after skipping a model year, presumably to clear inventory following a big sales drop into 2026. The automaker has said it is “pacing production of the all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S to support future improvements in battery performance, software, and capability.”
The single Limited trim comes with a dual-motor AWD powertrain and 500 hp, which can be upgraded to 600 hp with the Propulsion Boost package. The 100.5-kWh battery and 350-kW DC charging capability are expected to remain, but range may creep from 294 to past 300 miles if the promised powertrain improvements hold up.

What’s New for 2027
The 2027 Wagoneer S is back after skipping the 2026 model year, and it’s now compatible with the NACS charging standard, which means you can charge it at a Tesla Supercharger. Jeep has also made small improvements to the battery’s capability, software, and performance.

Exterior
The Wagoneer S is recognizably a Jeep, with a closed-off 7-slot grille panel and familiar proportions, but smoothed off for optimized aerodynamics, and with a gently sloping roofline. Slim LED headlights are linked with a full-width light bar, like the LED taillights. A contrasting black roof adds some interest, but monotone paint can be specified.Â
A subtly rising waistline narrows the greenhouse to where it terminates in dual rear spoilers, above and below the rear window. The standard wheel size is 20 inches, and ground clearance is low for a Jeep product at just 6.4 inches.

Interior
The sole Limited trim is well equipped with a heated steering wheel, heated power front seats, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, customizable 64-color ambient interior lighting, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Options include a power-adjustable steering column, ventilated front seats, and more. The second row is roomy, with 38.0 inches of legroom and 37.4 inches of headroom. The trunk is decent enough, but quite small for a midsize SUV, at 30.6 cu-ft with the rear seats up and 61.0 cu-ft with them down. There is a 3.0-cu-ft frunk.
The driver faces a digital gauge cluster and touchscreen that both measure 12.3 inches, with in-car tech including a deployable10.25-inch lower climate display, Wi-Fi, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, and 9-speaker Alpine audio. Options include a 10.25-inch passenger display, a 10.0-inch head-up display, and 19-speaker McIntosh audio.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Up to 600 hp with Propulsion Boost
- 350-kW DC fast charging
- Upscale interior with 45 inches of display area
- Up to 294 miles of range
Cons:
- 6.4-inch ground clearance limits off-road ability
- Interior narrower than that of the Grand Cherokee
- No third row
- Mediocre cargo space
Verdict
The Wagoneer S can be criticized for not being a “real” Jeep, and that has little to do with its excellent electric powertrain that offers strong performance, even in base 500-hp guise. Rather, the scant 6.4-inch ground clearance, the unresolved ride that can be both too floaty and too firm, and the grabby regenerative braking seem to let the side down a bit. DC fast-charging at about 200 kW is only average in this class, but the near-300-mile range is good. This may not be enough to counter excellent rivals like the BMW iX and Hyundai Ioniq 9.
