Overview
As the automaker’s first purpose-built EV, the 2026 Jeep Wagoneer S electric midsize SUV blends Jeep capability and premium luxury, creating a Jeep unlike we’ve ever seen. The sole Limited trim comes with a dual-motor setup with 500 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels, but this can be upgraded to 600 hp through the Propulsion Boost package, dropping the 0-60 sprint from 3.9 to 3.4 seconds.
The 100.5-kWh battery pack can be fast-charged at up to 350 kW DC to fill the battery from 20% to 80% in around 23 minutes, and it’s good for a range of 294 miles on Falken tires. The Wagoneer S is about the size of a Grand Cherokee, so it competes with rivals such as the Kia EV9, Cadillac Lyriq, Tesla Model X, and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

What’s New for 2026
For the 2026 Wagoneer S, the 600-hp Launch Edition trim has been dropped, leaving only the 500-hp Limited. You can still access the 600 hp output by adding the new Propulsion Boost package to the Limited. The 2026 Jeep Wagoneer S’s price increases by just under $1K.

Jeep
Exterior
The Wagoneer S is sleeker than a traditional Jeep, with a close-off grille panel, a slim reinterpretation of the 7-slot grille with sharp LED headlights on either side connected by a light bar, a gently sloping roofline, and a contrasting black roof. Distinctive rear spoilers sit above and below the rear screen. The standard wheels measure 20 inches, and the ground clearance is only 6.4 inches – lower than other Jeeps, but in tune with the S’s on-road focus. Snow and Sand drive modes can be selected to optimize grip in challenging conditions.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Up to 600 hp with Propulsion Boost for supercar-level acceleration
- 350-kW DC fast charging is among the fastest available
- Premium interior with 45 inches of total display area
- Up to 294 miles of range on Falken tires
- Available McIntosh 19-speaker audio system
Cons:
- Ground clearance of 6.4 inches limits off-road capability
- Interior feels narrower than similarly sized Grand Cherokee
- Early reliability concerns reported by some owners
- No third row limits family versatility
- Cargo space is average for the segment
Verdict
The Wagoneer S is a bold new electric Jeep, but it’s more road-focused than other Jeeps, with lower ground clearance and towing capacity. Performance is plentiful, even from the base 500-hp powertrain setup, but the Propulsion Boost upgrade brings 600 hp and a supercar-baiting 3.4-second 0-60 run.Â
Range is nearly 300 miles, and 350-kW fast charging is among the best in the segment. At $65K, it’s strong value against the BMW iX, but more expensive than the EV9 and Ioniq 9. Some cabin materials are a little lacking, but the Wagoneer S mostly pulls off a premium vibe, with plenty of style and performance, plus the Jeep badge, making it a compelling car in its segment.
