2026 Subaru Crosstrek in a Nutshell
There’s no shortage of Subaru crossovers to choose from these days. It all started with the Forester and, to some extent, the Outback back in the ’90s, and the lineup has grown since. There’s another model that’s worth mentioning, though, and that’s the Outback Sport. The Outback Sport would later evolve into the Crosstrek, also known as the XV in other markets.
Or rather, it was known as the XV. For the third-generation Crosstrek, the name was adopted worldwide. It’s on an updated platform and all that, but the formula remains the same. It’s Subaru’s smallest crossover offering in North America, and it’s still based on the Impreza.
The current Crosstrek was introduced in 2022 but didn’t launch in the US until 2024. Presently, there are seven trims, along with two powertrain choices. Prices range from $26,995 to $33,795.

2026 Subaru Crosstrek Lease Deals for November
For November, the base 2026 Crosstrek has a lease offer that starts under $300 per month, listed on Subaru’s official website. This month’s promo is for $275 for 36 months with $3,274 due at lease signing. It’s S.15 per mile over 10,000 miles/year, and this offer is valid until December 1, 2025.
So, what’s the second deal? Subaru is also offering the 2025 model year with a lower leasing rate for the base Crosstrek. Opt for $249 per month for 36 months, and you have to pay $2,748 due at signing. Same terms and conditions apply.

2026 Subaru Crosstrek Highlights
Of the seven trims available, two come with hybrid power, namely the Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid. That said, the base already comes with advanced driver assists, X-Mode off-road modes, and phone integration. The Premium adds a larger infotainment screen and roof rails, while the Sport (in both ICE and hybrid versions) gets yellow exterior highlights, dark grey wheels, and a leather steering wheel.
The Limited offers more features, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and leather trim. As for the Wilderness, it gets a unique suspension arrangement that adds more ground clearance. It jacks up the Crosstrek from 8.7 inches to 9.3 inches. The Wilderness trim also gives the Crosstrek a different set of bumpers, all-terrain tires, and harder-wearing interior trims.
Gas-fed Crosstreks use a 2.5-liter boxer engine with 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft. Hybrids use an Atkinson Cycle version of the same engine and two electric motors to give it 194 hp, and the motor alone makes 199 lb-ft. As it’s a Subaru, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is standard.

Final Thoughts
In essence, the Crosstrek is an Impreza on stilts, but it’s not totally a bad thing. For starters, the Crosstrek gets the larger engine that we say the platform needs, and there’s not much difference in fuel economy. Ride and handling are similar, and the addition of a hybrid option is a plus. With prices starting well below $30,000, you also get all-wheel drive thrown in the mix, making it one of the least expensive all-wheel drive vehicles one can buy today.
