2026 Lexus RX Hybrids: Trim-by-trim truths

The RX has been Lexus’s best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for over a decade, and its success has spawned a trim lineup of 19 variants, eight of which are hybrid. With buyers still leaning toward hybrids and the RX maintaining its popularity in 2025, we’re going to compare the 2026 Lexus RX’s hybrid trims, prioritizing features and in-cabin amenities, to help inform your buying decision. There are three types of 2026 RX hybrids: standard non-plug-in, performance non-plug-in, and plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV). Streamline your RX hybrid test drives with a closer look at its trims below.

RX 350h – $53,475

2026 Lexus RX 350h

Lexus

Lexus’s entry-level RX hybrid, the 350h, is a standard hybrid available in seven exterior colors and two interior colors, one of which is two-tone. Combined mileage is competitive for a luxury SUV at 36 mpg, and the 2.5-liter in-line-four hybrid engine produces 246 horsepower and 233 lb-ft of torque. This power output is fair-to-good for a luxury hybrid SUV, reflecting how RX 350h trims prioritize fuel efficiency over speed. All-wheel drive (AWD) is standard on every 350h trim, and the engine is paired with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT). Wheels measure 19 inches and feature a dark gray metallic and machined finish. The power tilt-and-slide moonroof and roof rails are both available as options, along with the windshield wiper de-icer, and while there’s a power tailgate, it’s missing the convenient kick sensor.

Inside, the seat material is synthetic leather, and like the windshield wiper de-icer, the heated steering wheel is part of the Cold Area package. Most of the RX 350h’s cabin sacrifices revolve around interior trim, which we’ll highlight in subsequent grades. Standard luxury interior features like an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s/front passenger’s seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel/shift knob, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and wireless phone charging are still standard. The RX 350h’s infotainment touchscreen is 9.8 inches, and Lexus scores points for including a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and 12 speakers. However, you’ll have to sacrifice advanced driver assist features like a panoramic view monitor and traffic jam assist.

RX 350h Premium – $55,650

2026 Lexus RX 350h Premium

Lexus

The RX 350h Premium adds one exterior color and one two-tone interior color. Though the previous trim’s 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with a machined finish are available, you can also choose 21-inch 20-spoke alloys. Unlike the previous trim, the RX 350h makes the rear tailgate’s kick sensor an option, but most of its differences are on the inside. Lexus dresses up the RX 350h Premium’s cabin with ash bamboo interior trim, a heated wood-and leather-trimmed steering wheel, and black open-pore wood interior trim. Interior functionality is elevated with ventilated front seats, a memory system for the driver’s seat, steering wheel, outside rearview mirrors, and a larger 14-inch touchscreen. Separate noteworthy options include a panoramic-view monitor, traffic-jam assist, and a tow-hitch receiver. While some of the RX 350h Premium’s best features are available only as options, the features included, such as luxury trim and ventilated seats, make a significant impact for a slight price difference.

RX 350h F Sport Design – $57,980

2026 Lexus RX 350h F Sport Design

Lexus

Crossing into RX 350h F Sport Design territory gives you a choice of six exterior colors and two interior colors, and the only factory wheel option is a set of 21-inch 10-spoke gloss black alloys. However, this trim’s exterior primarily distinguishes itself with F Sport design elements, including a more aggressive front fascia, unique front fender badges, gloss-black roof rails/side mirrors, and a diffuser-style rear lower bumper. The RX 350h F Sport design mirrors the RX 350h Premium’s specs in all other respects, so you should only select this trim if you’re keen on its exterior.

RX 350h Premium+ – $59,140

2026 Lexus RX 350h Premium+

Lexus

Those looking for more options when customizing their luxury SUV’s cabin will appreciate the RX 350h Premium+ offering four interior color choices, complementing its eight exterior colors. Dark gray metallic 21-inch 20-spoke alloy wheels are standard, and a panoramic glass roof and roof rails are available. Inside, this trim adds multi-zone climate control with an interior air filter and smog-sensing automatic recirculation, which pairs well with more thematic ambient lighting. Most of the RX 350h Premium+’s unlocked tech features are optional, including a 21-speaker audio system, a 10-inch head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and automatic parallel/perpendicular parking. Still, perforated leather-trimmed seating is standard, and most of its optional features, like the enhanced sound system, are worth considering.

RX 350h Luxury – $64,195

Lexus

While the RX 350h’s wheels are also 21-inch 20-spoke alloys, they differ from the RX 350h Premium+ with their dark premium metallic finish. Lexus amplifies this trim’s exterior with standard panoramic roof/roof rails, and triple-Beam LED headlamps with washers and cornering lamps. The interior enters a new luxury tier via 10-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats with four-way power lumbar adjustment, heated and ventilated rear outboard seats, and ultrasuede door trim. Seating material shifts from perforated leather-trim to softer perforated semi-aniline leather trim. On the tech front, the optional advanced park feature adds remote park capability, and the 10-inch head-up display is now standard. The RX 350h ultimately does an effective job at justifying its price tag without making too many features optional.

RX 450h+ Premium (PHEV) – $66,680

The first PHEV Lexus RX trim for 2026 is the RX 450h+. Although combined mpg is one mile lower than the 350h’s average of 36 mpg, and horsepower remains the same at 246, you’ll receive up to 38 miles of pure electric driving range, a 0-60 mph time that’s 1.2 seconds faster at 6.2 seconds, and a combined MPGe of 85. However, you’ll have to sacrifice several luxury features on lower trims. For the exterior, you’ll miss out on a panoramic glass roof, triple-beam LED headlamps with washers and cornering lamps, but there’s a power moonroof and roof rails. Inside, luxury features are more pronounced, with synthetic leather seats instead of genuine leather, no 10-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats with four-way power lumbar support, and heated/ventilated rear outboard seats. This trim also ditches the head-up display, advanced multi-zone climate control, and thematic ambient lighting, although an optional radiant knee heater enhances comfort in cold weather. Before test-driving an RX 450h+ Premium, ask yourself if its added efficiency compensates for its lower luxury.

RX 500h F Sport Performance – $66,850

2026 Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance

Lexus

Drivers who prioritize sporty SUV performance but don’t want to spend too much at the pump can look toward the RX 500h F Sport Performance. This trim’s turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four hybrid engine produces 366 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a 5.9-second 0-60 mph time. Combined mileage is rated at 27 mpg, and top speed increases by six mph to 130 mph. The RX 500h F Sport Performance’s chassis features F Sport-tuned suspension for sharper steering and reduced body roll during cornering, front/rear lateral dampers for smoother steering feedback, and dynamic rear steering optimizing maneuverability. Active sound control helps you balance performance with a serene cabin feel.

F Sport exterior design elements are present, but you can increase this trim’s curb appeal with the Appearance package, featuring orange brake calipers, side puddle lights, a black front spoiler, black side rocker panels, and a black rear valance. A panoramic glass roof is standard, and the interior is far more luxurious than the 450h+ Premium with its heated steering wheel, advanced multi-zone climate control, perforated leather-trimmed seats, and a head-up display. Unlike the RX 350h F Sport Design, the RX 500h F Sport Performance’s cabin comes standard with aluminum pedals and scuff plates, front seats with enhanced bolsters, and a perforated leather–trimmed steering wheel/shift knob.

RX 450h+ Luxury (PHEV) – $73,310

2026 Lexus RX 450h Luxury

Lexus

If you’re looking for a PHEV 2026 Lexus RX that’s less bare-bones than the 450h+ Premium, the RX 450h+ Luxury will prove a better fit if your budget accommodates its price. Standard exterior features on the RX 450h+ Luxury that you won’t get in its less expensive PHEV counterpart include a panoramic glass roof and triple-beam LED headlamps with headlamp washers and cornering lamps. Inside, the radiant knee heater transitions become standard along with advanced multi-zone climate control. Thematic ambient lighting, 10-way power driver/front passenger seats, heated/ventilated rear outboard seats, ultrasuede door trim, and perforated semi-aniline leather–trimmed seats are also standard. The front passenger’s seat’s power slide/recline shoulder switch is exclusive to this trim, and the head-up display elevates convenience. This grade’s most significant downside is that the 21-speaker sound system, digital rearview mirror, and advanced park feature with remote parking are optional. Still, the RX 450h+ Luxury easily justifies its price increase over the RX 450h+ Premium.
