The 2026 Jeep Compass in a Nutshell

The Jeep Compass didn’t exactly have an easy life. Reception towards the first generation introduced in 2006 wasn’t exactly warm. It was based on the Dodge Caliber, another car that had a lackluster reputation. Jeep has made a massive effort to repair the subcompact crossover’s image over the years, and the relatively low price tag helped its cause.

The second-gen Compass arrived in 2016 for the 2017 model year. Rolling updates have been made over the years, and a comprehensive facelift was done in 2022. Since then, the Compass has soldiered on in its current form until the all-new model arrives in the US market late 2026.

Trims are simple and straightforward for the Compass, with four to choose from and just one engine choice. Prices range from $30,990 to $35,480.

2026 Jeep Compass Lease Deals for November

Jeep has a special lease offer on the Compass this month, particularly for returning customers as an incentive. It can be leased for $329 per month for 42 months with $3,999 due at signing. It’s something worth looking into for those considering a longer-term lease.

This rate is applicable to the mid-spec Limited model with a mileage cap of 10,000 miles per year. A charge of $0.30 is added for every mile exceeding that, and the offer is valid until December 1, 2025.

2026 Jeep Compass Highlights

The Compass range starts with the Latitude Altitude, and it already comes with wireless phone connectivity, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Moving to the Limited, the subject of this lease deal, it gets two-tone wheels, leatherette seats inside, and adaptive cruise control.

For those looking for a subcompact crossover with actual off-road capability for not a lot of money, there’s the Trailhawk. It gets upgraded suspension bits with a terrain select system with more modes, plus underbody skid plates. As for the Limited Altitude, it adds 19-inch alloys, a larger infotainment screen, and two-tone paint.

But regardless of trim, all are powered by a 2.0-liter engine with 200 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. It then shifts with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard across all grades.

Final Thoughts

The Compass is a decent-enough ride that’s better than the model it replaced, though the first generation didn’t set the bar high in any aspect. Still, there are those looking for a reasonably priced small crossover with standard all-wheel drive, so this Jeep does fit the bill. It’s not exactly a class leader, but those who like the peace of mind of additional off-road capability, the Compass is worth a punt.
