The 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz in a Nutshell

With pickups growing more and more in size, it’s opened up a new sector in the market for those who just want a hauler without the bulk. Hyundai’s answer to that is the Santa Cruz, and it rolled out in 2021 for the 2022 model year.

The compact pickup has since received a facelift for 2025, adopting similar updates to those that benefited its crossover counterpart, the Tucson. Changes include a refreshed front end, a redesigned interior, and the addition of the off-road-oriented XRT model. Given that it’s fresh off a relatively mild revamp, the Santa Cruz carries over into 2026 with little to no changes.

2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz Lease Deals for December

Hyundai is plenty generous when it comes to lease deals, and this month, for the Santa Cruz is no exception. It also undercuts the Ford Maverick’s lease deals for December, making it a tempting proposition, indeed. Lease rates start at just $318 for 36 months with $3,999 due at lease signing, plus $750 off for the SE FWD.

In fact, all trims have the same due at signing costs and cash bonus to further sweeten the deal. Other highlights include the SEL AWD for $375 per month, the XRT for $539 per month, and the Limited for $549 per month. For the rest of the models, you can check out Hyundai’s official website. There are excess mileage charges of $.20 per mile over 10,000 miles per year, and the offer is valid until January 2, 2026.

2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz Highlights

Five main trim levels are available for the Santa Cruz. These are SE, SEL, SEL Activity, XRT, and Limited. SE to SEL Activity are front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive available, while XRT and Limited are all-wheel drive-only.

All trims come standard with advanced driver assists, wireless phone integration, and under-bed storage compartments, to name a few. SEL adds dual-zone climate control, roof rails, and heated seats, while SEL Activity gains a sunroof, wireless charging, and a bed cover.

XRT models get a unique set of bumpers, along with thicker body cladding, special interior trims, and all-terrain tires. As for the Limited, that one comes with 20-inch alloys, a digital key, and an integrated memory system. SE to SEL Activity trims use a 2.5-liter engine with 191 hp and 182 lb-ft, while the top two models get a boosted version of the same mill that puts out 281 hp and 311 lb-ft.

Final Thoughts

While it doesn’t have the most rugged underpinnings, the Santa Cruz can be described as a right-sized pickup for most. The bed is of a decent size, and the payload capacity is commendable for a small hauler. Couple that with this month’s low lease rates and cash bonus, and the Santa Cruz is a small truck that’s well worth a look.
