The 2026 BMW X6 M Competition in a Nutshell
The idea of a hot-rod SUV isn’t a new idea. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9 from the ’90s is a prime example of that. However, it was the Germans who shaped it into what it has become today, and BMW was among the pioneers of that genre.
Today, every BMW SUV (sorry, SAV) has a performance version, one of which is the X6 M. Like or loathe the looks, the X6 has been a successful product for BMW with sales figures to back that up. As such, there has been an M version of the coupe-crossover from the very start, and we’re now in the third generation.

2026 BMW X6 M Competition Lease Deals for December
BMW is offering a lease promo for its fastest coupe crossover this month. The X6 M Competition can be leased for $2,109 per month for 36 months with $9,939 due at signing. Total mileage is 30,000 miles, and there is a charge of $0.30 per mile in excess of 10,000 per year. Offer is valid until January 2, 2026.
There is also a lease offer for the lesser but still potent X6 M60i. That one goes for $1,299 for 36 months with $8,129 due at signing. Same terms and conditions apply.

2026 BMW X6 M Competition Highlights
There are two M-badged X6s to choose from, but it’s the M Competition we’re focusing on. It’s followed the same formula since the very first X6 M, so it’s got wider fenders, a unique suspension arrangement, more sporting bits inside, and of course, a stonking V8.
The X6 M Competition uses a detuned version of the same engine found in the M5. Being the Competition model, it gets more power and ramps output up to 617 hp from 591 hp. Meanwhile, torque is retained at 553 lb-ft from its 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8. You won’t make the mistake of choosing a non-Competition model as it’s not available in the US.

Final Thoughts
Here’s an odd fact to cap things off: the X6 is, apparently, the most satisfying car to own in the land at the moment. Sure, the whole coupe-crossover class is still divisive to this day, but it has its customers. The fact that three generations of the X6 have existed says something about the market today, and the continued success of the X6 M means fast SUVs are here to stay. Sure, it’s less practical than an X6, but it’s something extroverts might like to have in the garage.
