Unassuming design to blend in anywhere

One of the difficulties of a conventional RV is just how large they tend to be, and with that comes sluggish, boring handling, as well as added difficulty navigating tight lanes and congested roads, and finding a parking space. None of these difficulties really apply to this Sprinter camper, as its Euro-van dimensions were designed for the streets of Europe, which tend to be much smaller than those found in the United States.

The silver paint scheme with black accents is a nice balance between flashy and refined, offering a luxurious tone and feel that is a few notches above the dime-a-dozen white RVs and pull-along campers it would be expected to be mingling with. A spare tire is easily accessible on the rear, as well as a bike rack and roof-access ladder. Speaking of the roof, solar panels provide power to the many amenities found inside, which we’ll try to cover without missing too many.

Comfort and style for the road ahead

The interior is a much darker oyster grey and black, with all the modern comforts you would expect from a 2025 year model, as well as many additions to make the off-grid living dream an appealing reality. The kitchen and dining/sleeping areas take up the majority of the rear compartment, with handmade premium birch cabinetry courtesy of 27North complemented by espresso-stained bamboo countertops for durability and anti-stain cleanliness. The floors have also been sealed in a uniform coat of Lonseal Lonridge flooring, ensuring utmost durability no matter what you throw at them.

The side couches convert effortlessly from sleeping two to a dinette for four or more, or even an in-home movie theatre with a fold-down 24-inch smart TV, which, thanks to an extensive Wet Sounds Bluetooth audio system, might be better than what you have in your actual home. If you’d rather relax in the open air, a 10ft powered awning can be extended to provide a nice shady spot on even the sunniest of days.

Hygiene solutions are provided by a Thetford portable toilet in the rear with a sliding privacy door, as well as a full shower. A 2.5-gallon water heater has been fitted, connecting to a 30-gallon fresh water tank that also feeds the stainless steel kitchen sink. Used water flows into a separate 20-gallon greywater tank, where it can be recycled into fresh water again thanks to an advanced filtration system.

Temperature control is provided courtesy of a Dometic 12V air conditioning unit, as well as a Maxxair Maxxfan placed strategically in the corner to cover the entire compartment. There’s even an internet connection, thanks to a Starlink MINI unit and an advanced navigation system.

Plenty of power under the hood and on the roof

The engine in the Sprinter 2500 is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four diesel mated to an automatic transmission with all-wheel drive. Several integrated solar panels generate 525 watts of power, linked to a battery bank of three 310Ah lithium batteries for when the sun is not shining. A 3,000-watt inverter and DC-to-DC charging system mean you can charge the batteries with the main engine too.

This entire setup sits on all-terrain Canyon tires, with Rough Country LED accent lighting, and an Owl Vans Sherpa cargo system. Lastly, a powerful on-board compressor has been included for maintaining tire pressure.

Final thoughts: Home away from home

It’s safe to say that 27North turned an already great and luxurious Mercedes-Benz cargo van into the perfect short-term (or long-term) getaway camper. If you desire the simpler life, the open road, and rugged self-reliance, but want something more than a covered Conestoga wagon and horses, or even a 1960s-era Volkswagen camper van, this is the camper for you!
